Project overview
The Southcenter Parkway Extension Project includes construction of 1.4 miles of a new 5-lane roadway from South 180th Street to South 200th Street. In July 2010, Southcenter Parkway and Frager Road will be closed to through traffic from South 180th Street to South 200th Street with local access only.

Project Timeline
Due to unforeseen site conditions and weather related delays, construction for the Southcenter Parkway Extension Project began in July 2010 and is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2012.
What’s Happening Now?
1/31/12
- Street lighting and traffic signal systems are being installed throughout the project.
- The franchise utility systems (gas, power and communications) are being installed in the south third of the project.
- Curb and asphalt installation continues on the south half of the project as weather allows.
- The storm drain junction structure on South 180th Street east of Southcenter Parkway is in progress. Retaining walls and restoration work are scheduled for January.
- Irrigation & landscaping are being installed.
What’s Coming Up?
- Installation of street lighting and 5 traffic signals
- Curb and base asphalt installation will continue as weather allows this spring.
- Landscaping and irrigation.
- Work on Punchlist items north of 180th are scheduled to resume after the first of the year.
- Miscellaneous work.
Bicyclist Information
- Since Frager Road is closed, bicyclists should use the bike lanes on S. 200th Street to connect to the Interurban Trail to the east off of S. 196th Street or other routes.

The project team is committed to keeping the community informed of construction progress and road closures. Project representatives will be
