Healthy Earth, Healthy You - 5K Run & Walk

April 21, 2012

This fun run and walk is healthy for you and healthy for the Earth! Registration for this event is $20 and includes the opportunity to plant a tree or shrub in your honor at a post event riverside restoration event. Good, Healthy, FUN awaits you along the Duwamish-Green River Trail. The race begins at 8am and registration deadline is April 19. 12th Annual Backyard Wildlife Festival

May 12, 2012 - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Tukwila Community Center

Please join us for this free event to educate and inspire people to welcome wildlife – such as birds, butterflies and others – into their backyards, garden and communities. This event will host a variety of activities and educational opportunities on how to attract and support wildlife through garden and landscape practices, and creating and preserving wildlife habitat in our region. Touch-A-Truck Safety Fair

June 23, 2012 - 11:00am to 3:00pm
Foster High School Parking Lot

This awesome event will put kids in the driver's seat of Tukwila's biggest heavy-duty rigs and includes a safety and emergency preparedness fair.! Children of all ages (and adults too) will have a hands-on chance to honk the horns and kick the tires of an assortment of big rigs. A variety of exhibitors will also be on-hand to distribute free summer safety tips as well as emergency preparedness information.

Family Fourth at the Fort

July 4, 2012 - 4:00pm to 10:00pm
Fort Dent Park

Bring your family and friends to Fort Dent Park for our annual July 4th celebration! The Park opens to the public at 9 a.m., with event activities beginning at 4 p.m. Free fun for the entire family including: inflatable bouncers and slides and an entertainment stage. Bring your own picnic to share with family and friends or purchase food from one of the many vendors you'll find throughout the festival. BBQ's allowed in designated areas only Stake out a spot on the lawns for the day and stay to watch the fireworks display at 10 p.m.! Parking is limited, so be sure to come early!

Peanut Butter & Jam Concert Series

Fridays, July 20 - August 10 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm
Tukwila Community Center

Tukwila Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the Peanut Butter & Jam’ noontime concert series at the Tukwila Community Center is back! This concert series is especially for kids and families. Pack the picnic baskets and blankets and watch your kids dance and sing to the tunes of their favorite performers.

Summer Outdoor Cinema Series

Fridays, July 20 - August 10
Tukwila Community Center

Bring your own lawn chair, or cozy up under your blanket at TCC for an enjoyable evening in the park under the stars…doors open at 8:00pm and movie begins at dusk. Shows are FREE, but we do ask you bring two cans of food per family member to help support the Tukwila Food Pantry. Yummy concessions area also available!

Tukwila Kids' Festival

August 11, 2012 - 12:00pm to 4:00pm

The Tukwila Kids' Festival is a day of full of exhibits, stage entertainment featuring the local children's' band Recess Monkey interactive booths, meet-and-greet characters, and more. This event provides an educational experience for the whole family so come and enjoy an action-packed day And remember, the best part about Tukwila Kids' Festival is, it's FREE!

Great Urban Community Campout

August 18-19, 2012 - 5:00pm to 9:00am
Crestview Community Park

Join us for a night of camping under the stars, creating some cool outdoor crafts, and singing songs by the campfire! REI will be on hand to help set-up tents and talk about orienteering and camping safety! Cost is $15 per tent. Register early by calling (206) 768-2822. There is a maximum of 20 tents allowed at this event!
