The Tukwila Police Department Mission Statement

We, the members of the Tukwila Police Department, are committed to being responsive to our community in the delivery of quality services. We recognize our responsibility to maintain order, while affording dignity and respect to every individual. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all through community partnerships and problem solving to promote safe, secure neighborhoods.

The City of Tukwila, approximately eight square miles in size, is located in south King County and bordered by the cities of Seattle, Renton, Kent, and SeaTac. We are a full service, progressive police department currently supporting 68 commissioned officers. We sponsor and support a variety of community activities and programs in support of our Community-Oriented Policing objectives. We enjoy productive working partnerships with our school district, business community, citizen groups, and the many human service organizations in our region. Our residential population of approximately 17,000 dramatically under-represents the urban activity generated by our large commercial center and the transportation corridors that cross our community. Details on our many programs and specifics on crime data may be found within subsections of this home page or by calling our department directly at 206-433-1808, fax at 206-244-6181, or by email at tukpd@ci.tukwila.wa.us
