Term of Office: January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015.
Time on the Council: Elected in November 2007.
Education and Career: After attending Renton High School, Kathy graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Visual Communications. Her career has included working as a marketing support representative and owning a small business. She taught Graphic Arts at Seattle Central Community College for 12 years.
Family: Kathy and her husband Ed moved from South Seattle to Tukwila in 1993. They have two sons, Andrew and Daniel, who attend Tukwila schools, and a son, Timothy, who is attending law school at the University of Georgia.
Interests: Music, sports and photography.
Affiliations/Associations: Kathy is the City Council representative on the South King County Economic Development Initiative (SKCEDI) board,
and the Mayor’s Alternate on the Suburban Cities Association Public Issues Committee.
She is a former member of the Tukwila Pantry Executive Advisory Board, and currently is a member of the Southwest
King County Chamber of Commerce, TIBAC and the Tukwila Historical Society. She is also a member of the Tukwila
Elementary PTA, and in 2009 re-started a Parent Group at Showalter Middle School. Kathy organizes the annual National
Night Out Against Crime for her street, and oversees a block watch for her immediate neighborhood.
