Each Committee meets twice a month to discuss matters related to the area of concern; then passes its recommendations forward to the Committee of the Whole. All Committee meetings are OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Note times and days below.

Resolution #1713, passed by Council on May 3, 2010, establishes the meeting schedule for City Council Committees.
Transportation Committee

1st and 3rd Monday, 5:00 p.m.
Public Works Conference Room #1
Chair Verna Seal, Joan Hernandez, De’Sean Quinn - This committee considers all matters related to transportation, traffic, streets, and signals. It works with the Public Works Department and the Department of Community Development.
Finance and Safety Committee

1st and 3rd Tuesday, 5:00 p.m.
City Hall Conference Room #3
Chair De’Sean Quinn, Allan Ekberg, Kathy Hougardy - This committee considers matters related to the budget and financial operations of the City, personnel policies, police and fire protection, emergency services, the Municipal Court and animal control. It works with the City Administrator, City Clerk, and the Finance, Police, and Fire Departments.
Community Affairs and Parks Committee

City Hall Conference Room #3
Chair Joe Duffie, Joan Hernandez, Verna Seal - This committee considers matters related to the City Zoning Code, Building Code, Sign Code, parks, recreation, and planning policies. It works with the Department of Community Development, Planning Commission, Arts Commission, Board of Adjustment, Parks and Recreation Department, and Parks Commission.
Utilities Committee

2nd and 4th Tuesday, 5:00 p.m.
Public Works Conference Room #1
Chair Kathy Hougardy, Joe Duffie, Allan Ekberg - This committee considers matters related to utilities (City-owned and franchised) such as water, sewer and surface water. It works with the Public Works Department.
Unless changed by committee consensus, Committee meetings falling on a Monday holiday will be held on Tuesday, with the regularly scheduled Tuesday meeting moving to Wednesday. If any committee's time is changed, it will be highlighted on that specific committee agenda.
Please note that all meeting days and times shown follow the monthly calendar starting with the first Monday of the month; therefore the 1st and 3rd Tuesday meetings and the 2nd and 4th week meetings all follow the first Monday meeting, held on the first Monday of the month.
NOTE: Regular council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Committee of the Whole meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month.
