Passport Information

EFFECTIVE August 17, 2010

Due to staffing reductions based on budget constraints, the City of Tukwila will no longer be accepting Passport applications at Tukwila City Hall, 6200 Southcenter Boulevard., Tukwila. The last day for Passport application acceptance at Tukwila City Hall will be Monday, August 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To find a local Passport Acceptance Facility, please visit the U.S. Passport website at the following link:

http://iafdb.travel.state.gov

The City of Tukwila is a Passport Acceptance Facility, allowing us to assist with applications for a U.S. passport. Following is some basic information regarding common passport questions. For more detailed information, as well as downloadable forms, addresses, and frequently asked questions, please visit the U.S. Passport Services Website.

By U.S. regulation, only Federal, State or Local government officials may serve as passport acceptance agents. Acceptance agents receive applications from the public and review them to ensure all necessary information and citizenship evidence is included. They administer the required oath and witness the applicants' signatures, then forward the applications to the Passport Services Agency (U.S. Dept. of State) for issuance. Acceptance facilities also provide the public with general information on passport procedures and serve as a liaison between applicants and Passport Services Agencies. The actual decision to issue or deny a passport is made only by a Passport Services Agency, not the City of Tukwila. To check on the status of a submitted passport, please call 1-877-487-2778 or send email to npic@state.gov.
